According to Forbes, a whopping 12 Texan entrepreneurs have made it rain on the 'Richest Self-Made Women' list, and they are surrounded by a few Hollywood A-list names that include Taylor Swift, Rihanna, and Oprah Winfrey, to name a few!

To be considered for the list, the women's wealth must come from entrepreneurship endeavors, excluding heirs to family fortune and winnings. 

 

With a record-breaking cumulative net worth of $124 billion among these strong and powerful females, Texas is cementing its status as the land of opportunity, where dreams turn into gold!

  • Lisa Su, 53, originally born in Taiwan, placed 34th on the list, with a net worth of an estimated $740 million. Su is the CEO of semiconductor company Advanced Micro Devices. The company’s stock has risen nearly 30-fold since she became CEO in 2014, according to Forbes.
  • Kendra Scott, 49, is No. 47 on the list, is worth an estimated $550 million for her jewelry company. The company Kendra Scott now has over 100 stores, Scott serving as executive chairwoman. 
  • Whitney Wolfe Herd, 33, tied for 52 on the list, has a net worth of an estimated $510 million as the co-founder and CEO of Bumble Inc., which owns popular online dating apps Bumble and Badoo. According to Forbes, both apps “operate in 150 countries with 3.4 million paying users as of December 2022.”

  • Paige Mycoskie, 43, tied for 73 on the list with a net worth of an estimated $380 million for her California lifestyle brand, Aviator Nation. The COVID-19 pandemic skyrocketed the company, resulting in $130 million in sales for 2022, according to Forbes.
  • Iman Abuzeid, 38, tied for 77 on the list with an estimated net worth of $350 million as the co-founder and CEO of Incredible Health, a company started to alleviate ever-growing nursing shortages across U.S. hospitals. According to Forbes, Abuzeid is “one of only a handful of Black female founders to run a company valued at more than $1 billion.”
  • Julia Cheek, 39, tied for 92 on the list with an estimated $260 million net worth as the founder of Everly Health, an at-home testing company based in Austin. The company hit an estimated $250 million in revenue in 2022, according to Forbes.
  • Belinda Johnson, 56, with an estimated net worth of $250 million, is No. 96 on the list after serving as the COO of Airbnb, a role she stepped down from in March 2020. She was hired at the company in 2011, and left the company’s board in June 2023, according to Forbes. 
  • Gwynne Shotwell, 59, of Jonesboro, placed 27th on the list with an estimated net worth of $860 million, and acts as space exploration company SpaceX’s president and COO.

  • Robyn Jones, 60, of Fort Worth, placed 29th on the list with an estimated net worth of $830 million as the co-founder of Goosehead Insurance.
