When it comes to "smarts", dogs don't get enough credit. Man's best friend is pretty well off in the brains department. In fact, vocabulary - wise, they're equal to ... if not smarter than ... us until we're about 3 or 4.

Personally, I think my dog is smarter than a lot of fully grown humans out there these days.

10 Smartest Dog Breeds

According to the World Animal Foundation, the canine over - achievers include some El Paso favorites. Of these 10, I feel like I see German Shepherds, Border Collies and Labradors around here the most.

I can't really say I see a ton of Pembroke Welsh Corgi's or Australian Sheep Dogs around El Chuco though.

When it comes to the favorite's though, brains aren't necessarily all that. In fact, arguably, the most popular dog breed in El Paso sits mid - "pack". Chihuahuas seem to be just "ehh", intelligence - wise. With the exception of Chico who is mega - smart. Seriously, I've seen him do office work and drive a car.
