Alright, so if you've ever had the pleasure of calling El Paso home, you know that it's more than just a city! It's a way of life, but that’s just my biased opinion.

From the breathtaking sunsets over the Franklin Mountains to the local food trucks on every corner, El Paso's essence is something that can only truly be understood by those who've had the privilege of growing up here or even those who now call El Paso home after years of living here.

I asked the people of El Paso to share a photo that instantly reminds them of El Paso or a photo that only true El Pasoans would understand.

Some of the photos will have you taking a trip down memory lane, others will have you laughing, and some will have you nodding your head in recognition and agreement.

Photos That Only Make Sense If You Grew Up In El Paso:

The Iconic Star on the Mountain:

What's more El Paso than looking up at night and seeing the proud star lit up on the Franklin Mountains? It's a symbol of home that sparks a warm feeling in anyone who's grown up here. Whether you were in awe of it as a child or used it as a landmark for giving directions, that star will always hold a special place in your heart.

Chico's Tacos - A Rite of Passage:

A snapshot of a pile of rolled tacos drenched in cheese might seem ordinary to some, but to El Pasoans, it's a cherished memory of late-night cravings, post-game celebrations, and impromptu hangouts. If you didn't grow up devouring Chico's Tacos, did you really have an El Paso childhood?

Desert Sunsets That Take Your Breath Away:

No filter needed for these sunsets. The hues of orange, pink, and purple as the sun dips behind the mountains are a sight to behold. For El Paso natives, this view is a daily reminder of the city's natural beauty and a perfect excuse for impromptu photoshoots.

That Now Infamous UTEP Tailgate Fighting Photo:

You know the picture I’m talking about. An older gentleman can be seen holding his fist up in a fighting stance as he was ready to apparently throw punches at someone. What were they fighting about? I’m not even sure but the photo is now iconic in the borderland.
