Lone Star Drama: Why Texas Ranks Among the Pettiest States in the Nation
Another day, another TikTok trend! This new trend has a lot of people sharing just how petty they are. With over 21.7 billion views, the #petty TikTok trend has taken the internet by storm.
The concept? People dance or sing along to a song singing “I’m petty, yea, I’ petty.” and the TikTok user will confess to something they’re petty about.
Well this “Petty Trend” got a few researchers wondering just how petty American’s really were and in true American style, they created a survey that uncovers America's pettiness levels and identify which state wears the pettiest crown and well, Texas is pretty high on that list. *Gasps in Spanish*
Texans Love A Little Pettiness:
Everything's bigger in Texas, including pettiness! The survey of 3,000 Americans revealed that Texas ranks in the top three prettiest states, with an astonishing 94% of surveyed respondents proudly confessing to their petty ways. Texans even gave themselves a solid 6 out of 10 on the pettiness scale.
What Exactly Are Texans Petty About?
It;’s honestly not much of a shocker to read that when it comes to pettiness in Texans it’s pretty much due to Romantic relationships. (I feel attacked!!)
29% of Texas residents admit that love can be a breeding ground for pettiness. Social media follows closely at 18%, with driving (15%), friendships (14%), work (12%), gaming (9%), and sports (3%) also making the list of pettiness triggers.
We may have made the top three list, but Alabama claims the title of the pettiest state, with a jaw-dropping 96% of respondents embracing their inner pettiness.
On the flip side, the District of Columbia stands as the least petty state, with a still-respectable 67% of respondents admitting to this characteristic.
