Dave’s Hot Chicken Announces Opening Date For First El Paso Location
The widely popular California hot chicken chain, Dave’s Hot Chicken, is finally opening its first location in El Paso’s eastside of town!
Dave’s Hot Chicken is set to open its doors on Friday, February 9th at its new location in the Eastlake Commons Shopping center located at 12261 Eastlake Blvd, Suite E509.
“My experience here in El Paso is that I have always believed that we love spicy food like this and the community always responds great to businesses like these so I know they will enjoy the experience as well as the friendly service,” said Jorge Frasto, Director of Operations for Dave’s Hot Chicken in El Paso & New Mexico.
The chain restaurant held a soft grand opening and I was able to check it out to see what all the fuss was about and I was not disappointed!
My son had been following Dave’s Hot Chicken on social media for a while now so he was already obsessed with the restaurant even before he heard the news that it was coming to El Paso.
What’s All The Hype About?
The second you sink your teeth into their delicious chicken strips or sliders you’ll understand why this chain has such a huge social media following.
Dave’s Hot Chicken is known for it’s deep-fried chicken that is coated with spices that definitely give the chicken a spicy kick to it!
“Its a whole experience,” said Frasto. "If you’ve ever tried Nashville hot chicken this would be one of the best versions of that. Its full of flavor and it's a whole experience."
Me and my son ordered a variety of items on the menu to taste a little bit of everything and I will be the first to say that your first bite into the hot and extra hot flavored will DEFINITELY provide a good spicy kick to your taste buds!
The menu offers meals, family or group packs, side orders, and even some delicious fully loaded milkshakes.
Dave’s Hot Chicken: The Story Behind It All
According to the restaurants website, three childhood friends in their 20’s scraped together $900 and had a “not-so-grand opening” in 2017, in a parking lot in East Hollywood, with a couple of folding tables and a portable fryer under the night sky.
Thanks to the power of social media, locals stopped by their food truck, tasted the food, enjoyed it, came back with their friends and the word spread like wildfire!
“Then, the buzz brought a reporter from EATER/LA. He took a bite of his first Dave’s Hot Chicken tender, and our world changed. The next day he posted, “East Hollywood’s New Late Night Hot Chicken Stand Might Blow Your Mind.” So much was born for us in that moment. The lines went down the street and around the block.”
The best part of my visit to Dave’s Hot Chicken was the kind staff. It was such a busy night for the staff as the line wrapped around the restaurant, but the second you were let inside you were greeted by a smiling staff that was eager to serve you! (And they even reminded me to mix the Dave’s Hot Chicken Sauce with the honey packet provided to add an amazing flavor to my slider!)
No word yet on whether or not the franchise will be opening any other locations in El Paso, but the second we hear about that possibility, we’ll let you know!
