There is just something a little heavier about the death of someone when you discover that person was only eight months old at the time of their passing. The Waco Police Department had been actively investigating the cause since the baby's death was first reported, and finally made an arrest the day after Christmas of Nichole Green, 24, of the 900 block of Camp Drive in Waco, Texas.

Green, who is the mother of the deceased, has been charged with murder after an autopsy determined the cause of death was from the toxic effects of methamphetamine on October 12, 2023. It has not been released how the drugs got into the baby's system, but enough had been ingested to cause an overdose and death.

According to this KWTX article, Green is currently being held in the McLennan County Jail without bond with a long list of charges in addition to murder.
