Lubbock Man Wanted for Murder Arrested After Week Long Manhunt
The Lubbock Police Department recently asked the public for their help in searching for a man suspected of a murder. That manhunt for 36-year-old Antoine Manahan lasted a little more than a week when on July 11th the Lubbock Police Department was dispatched to the 1900 block of East Auburn Street at 12:06 p.m.. It was at a home at that location that officers discovered the body of 45-year-old Chad Reed deceased inside.
The Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit and Texas Anti-Gang Unit were also on the scene investigating the death of Chad Reed but it wasn't until July 14th that the search for Manahan began. The search for Manahan was extended from Lubbock to the Amarillo and Wichita Falls area.
Manahan was eventually arrested in Arlington on Thursday, July 19, but he was not the only person arrested that night. Police also arrested a woman, 22-year-old Avery White, who is believed to have also been involved in the murder of Chad Reed. Both Manahan and Reed were charged with Murder and, as per the publishing of this article, are currently in custody of the Grand Prairie Police Department.
Manahan and White are expected to be transferred to the Lubbock County Detention Center. The Lubbock Police Department did state online that the arrests were made possible due to the efforts of the Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit, Lubbock Texas Anti-Gang Center, Wichita Falls Police Department and Grand Prairie Police Department all coming together.
