I love a good kermes! The games, the atmosphere and most importantly: the food! Because of the pandemic, last year's kermes season was basically halted. However, good old St. Anthony's Seminary knows how to keep the vibes going.

Last year, St. Anthony's Seminary, which is known for its popular kermes every Labor Day weekend and its legendary gorditas, didn't let the pandemic stop them from spreading joy (not the 'rona!). They held a drive-thru bazaar that included plates of gorditas and enchiladas!

This year, since things don't seem to be calming down in this pandemic, St. Anthony's Seminary is doing it again! Just because there's no actual bazaar doesn't mean there can't be gorditas! This 4th, 5th and 6th of September you can get yourself a plate of their gorditas at St. Anthony's Seminary at 4601 Hastings and get a plate of enchiladas at St. Francis of Assisi Parish.

I know, it seems weird that there's going to be two different locations- but it's worth it! Parking lots at each location will be set up so people can drive in, pay for your delicious plate(s) and drive off merrily with your food! It's safe, it's delicious and it's all for a great cause.

St. Anthony's Seminary kermes is a tradition for many El Pasoans, including myself. If you've never been- I can assure that the line for gorditas will be long but so worth it.

I know I'm not the only one, back in June we asked our listeners to give us their favorite kermes' in town and St. Anthony's was in the top six!
