How To Stay Safe And Beat The Heat At StreetFest
How To Stay Safe And Beat The Heat At StreetFest
The weekend is finally here! Which means it's time to get ready to rock downtown at this year's StreetFest! But we also know that this is going to be a hot one.
This weekend is all about StreetFest. From the delicious food, cool cars and rocking music this is the place to be in El Paso! This weekend also has a heat advisory in effect so festival goers are also being told to keep cool and stay safe.
Here are some tips on how you can keep cool this weekend at Streetfest:
- Know the signs of any heat related illness: fatigue, nausea, thirst, headache, muscle cramps, confusion, dizziness, fainting and more
- Dress in light colors that are lightweight. The looser the clothes, the better you'll feel!
- Drink plenty of water before heading out to the show and make sure you continue to hydrate throughout
- Make sure you have on sunblock and if possible wear a hat
- If drinking, make sure to hydrate while drinking. Usually for every alcoholic beverage have a 8-ounce glass of water
- If you are looking for FREE WATER, there are public water fountains located inside the convention center and the Abraham Chavez Theater.
- If you need somewhere to cool off from the heat, the car show located inside the convention center will be air conditioned so you can check out some cool cars and cool off at the same time! The Abraham Chavez theater will also have vendors, live music and will be air conditioned too!
