How Does March Madness Affect Work Habits?

March Madness is awesome. And it's awesome for one of the reasons I love the World Cup. Lots of games on during the day at the beginning of the tournament. You can just watch sports, non-stop.

And between all the channels, including TruTV, and the Internet, you can watch every damn game. At least parts of every game because, well, some are happening at the same time.

So, how does this affect work productivity?

A recent survey found that 52% of managers felt that March Madness INCREASED work productivity. And 72% believe is helps boost office morale.

The cities that see the biggest boost in morale?

• Des Moines, Iowa
• Indianapolis, Indiana
• Raleigh, North Carolina

The cities with the biggest increase in production?

• Miami, Florida
• Los Angeles, California
• Detroit Michigan

The survey also found that 75% of companies organize sports-related activities for March Madness. And not all the activities are brackets. Some have employees wear their favorite team clothing, and even watching games with co-workers.
