Last week I wrote an article on a website that claimed to know what five neighborhoods were the best to live in in El Paso. I say "claim" because it was obvious that whoever wrote the article has probably never been to El Paso! Their list included lakes and bars and restaurants that were nowhere near the location they were talking about.

Well, a brand new list has come out from a different website. This time, instead of focusing on neighborhoods, it' instead gives us "8 Reasons to Visit El Paso". I have a little more faith in this one because it comes from a Houston area website; so at least the article has some Texas roots!

The author of the article says they did actually visit El Paso and that they were greeted with "warm hospitality". The author had nothing but nice things to say about El Paso and then proceeded to give us eight reasons to visit the Sun City. They are as follow:

  • Hotel Paso Del Norte
  • Ciudad Juarez
  • Rocketbuster Boots
  • White Sands
  • Las Cruces
  • Zin Valle Vineyards
  • Lucchese
  • City Murals

I don't think it's a bad list at all; they're all very wonderful reasons to give the Sun City a visit. However, my problem with it is that half of the reasons on the list are not in El Paso. Juarez, White Sands, Las Cruces and Zin Valle Vineyards all require you venture out of El Paso. Don't get me wrong, they are definitely worth the trip, but if you're visiting El Paso do you really want to go further outside the city limits?

While I do think it's a well put list, and the author gives wonderful reasons as to why they made the list, I would have preferred for the list to be El Paso centric. What do you think? Is it a valid list? What do you wish would have been on this list?
