Wall Of Fame Of Over 90 Stars Featured At Hotel Paso Del Norte
Hotel Paso del Norte installed a Wall of Fame showcasing all the celebrities and dignitaries who've stayed at the Paso del Norte Hotel throughout the last century.
I recently took a stroll downtown and decided to check out the newly renovated Hotel Paso del Norte, and I was in for a pleasant surprise.
While the famed dome is still intact, the Paso del Norte hotel revamped much of its interior. As a result, the mixed influences of Mexican, Texan, and North American cultures create a subtle yet classic aesthetic.
New was the Frida Kahlo wallpaper behind the check-in desk, fancy chandeliers, and mirrors in the lobby area, the addition of a concierge desk and new in-house vendors such as Dulce, a cafe, 1700 Steakhouse, and coming soon BlackJacks, a cigar shop, and bar.
The Hotel Paso del Norte has been around for over 100 years and recently reopened its doors as part of Marriott's Autograph Collection in the fall of 2020. The newly refurbished hotel features 350 rooms, a spa, cigar lounge, restaurant, and many more amenities, including the famed Dome Bar.
The hotel designed by famed architects Trost & Trost originally opened on Thanksgiving Day 1912 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
As I made my way upstairs to the second floor, I noticed that they installed a Wall of Fame that features nameplates arranged to spell out the words EL PASO of every notable person who has stayed at the historic hotel.
Over the century, the hotel has greeted many notable folks, including many U.S. Presidents such as G.H.W. Bush, G.W. Bush, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, William Howard Taft, Herbert Hoover, and Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
Actors, artists, dignitaries, and many of the musicians we’ve hosted over the years throughout many of our station events have stayed at the iconic hotel.
