Here’s How to Register Your Team in the Borderland Blitz Flag Football Tournament

Summer is almost here and for youth flag football players in El Paso and Las Cruces, it means that they have a chance to play in the Borderland Blitz Summer Flag Football Tournament.

N Zone Sports is registering teams for a double elimination flag football tournament, which kicks off on Saturday, June 11. Boys and girls ages 5 to 16 are welcome to sign up. Players must have a team to sign up for this special event. The last day to register a team is Thursday, May 28th.

The best part of this? Bragging rights for your city. Since this is a cross-town tournament, El Paso area teams will have a chance to compete against the best flag football squads in Las Cruces. The tournament uses a double-elimination format, so each team will play a minimum of two games. Since the tournament involves two cities, teams will alternate in playing games in El Paso and in Las Cruces.

Registration for this tournament is $55 per player, which includes a jersey and flags. Discount registration is $50 per player if they are using a previous season jersey from N Zone.

Borderland Blitz Tournament Dates & Times

• June 11 - Las Cruces Soldado Park -(AM Games only)
• June 18 - El Paso Galatzan Recreation Center (AM & PM Games)
• June 25 - Las Cruces Soldado Park (AM Games. PM games if necessary)

Borderland Blitz Champions Receive 

• 1st Place Team will receive a Large 1st Place Team Trophy & Free team registration to next year's tournament
• 2nd Place Team will receive a Large 2nd Place Team Trophy

More from the Tournament 

Format: 5 v 5 non-contact fast paced flag football. Each team has 3 chances to get a first down and 3 chances to score. Field size is 50 x 30 yards + 8 yard end zones. Detailed rules will be provided to each team and rules are currently available here.

Jersey color request on first come first serve basis. Jersey requests only accepted after complete team payment.

Team Payments accepted with prior head coach approval.

Age Divisions: 

• 5-7 - Pewee Football
• 8-10 Junior Football
• 11-13 Junior Football
• 14-16 Youth Football

Team size & requirements: minimum-7, maximum-10. Players may play up by 1 age. Players are not allowed to play down an age division, no exceptions. All players must provide proof of Date of Birth to participate
