For decades, pizza has been the one food you could always count on to get delivered right to your door. Now, thanks to food delivery apps there's an entire world of options to choose from, but pizza is still the top delivered food. Pizza is relatively cheap, can be delivered fast, and the in-person contact can be minimal which is important now during a pandemic. But pizza preference varies from state to state.

A new study from Top Data looked at sales for pizza restaurants across the country and they were able to list which pizza franchises were the most popular by state and found the top five in each state. In half the states (25 exactly) Little Caesars was the top spot to pick up a pizza pie. Makes sense, given the pizza chain's Hot-And_ready option makes customers experience the fastest to get food in and out and go right back home to self-isolate. Also topping the list were lpenty of delivery options. Papa John's came in second, Domino's was third, Pizza Hut came in fourth and Cicis was the only sit-down option who made the top 5. As we continue to navigate the strange new normal world we are living in, delivery and curbside option will most likely continue to dominate pizza sales around the country. Since Little Caesars has their ready-made pizzas in-house, I can see them easily outperforming other pizza chains this year and well into 2021.
