Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, there are limited essential businesses that are open and that list will be even smaller this Sunday. Many of the essential workers out on the frontlines working every day, days filled with long hours and little respite. Now, their employers are saying thank you and giving them a day to rest with their families.

While some stores do habitually close on Easter Sunday, now other stores that are deemed essential are giving their workers the day off to get some well-deserved rest and relaxation. According to CBS News, the CEO of Lowe's Marvin Ellison said any staff that was scheduled to work that day will still be paid.

Stores that plan on closing Easter Sunday include:

  • Lowe's
  • Costco
  • Sam's Club
  • Target
  • Big Lots
  • HEB
  • Sprouts Farmers Markets
  • Sears
  • Trader Joe's
