Actor Makes Amends with Texas Middle School After 21 Years
Actor Glen Powell is everywhere these days! After starring in a string of successful rom-coms, the Texas native doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon.
If you don't know who Glen Powell is, allow me to give you a brief rundown on the guy! Powell has been acting for over 20 years and is finally seeing his big break thanks to his roles in movies such as "Anyone But You", "Top Gun: Maverick" and most recently "The Hitman" on Netflix.
And while all of Hollywood is loving the Austin native, the students at Canyon Vista Middle School might not think Glen Powell is the greatest; in fact they might have a bit of beef with the actor! Okay, maybe they do love him, but as it turns out, Powell is one of the reasons why they can't wear regular backpacks!
During an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Powell revealed that he was quite the prankster back in his middle school days. But one prank on his last day of eight grade was the biggest one of his entire pranking journey. This one involved 3,000 crickets!
As you can see, he delivered a heartfelt apology, but in the end, it was all worth it to Powell.
One student in the comments section went on to give an update and clarify the backpack situation saying:
They got rid of the translucent backpacks a year before I went to the school but now in the last week of the school we’re not allowed to wear backpacks!
It looks like the staff at Canyon Vista Middle School still have some PTSD from the cricket incident and are doing the most to prevent it from happening again! But, good on Powell for apologizing, and maybe he will stop by his former stomping grounds as he makes his return back to the Lone Star state! You can see Powell next in the sequel "Twisters".
