The 11th annual Rocking the Rez Pow Wow and Skate Jam will make another return to Pakitu Community Park. If you have gone before then you know exactly all the fun activities they have to offer for the family.

Besides the fun activities, it sure is nice to learn and see a sacred social gathering that honors their culture. Every time I got to work at Rocking the Rez Pow Wow it was always a ton of fun and a great learning experience for me.

Not only was it a fun learning experience, but also interesting to see so many tribes from all over the nation. You're able to witness a variety of American Indian tribes dancing and chanting for all to see and hear. Just refer to Julio Soto's YouTube video directly below to get an idea.

There will be a contest that includes $55,000 in prize money for those competing. Another contest that will be held will be for the Skate Jam category that will be at Pakitu Skate Plaza.

The 11th Annual Rocking the Rez Pow Wow will kick off this weekend. They will be holding the event Saturday, October 1, and wrapping up Sunday, October 2.

So make sure to join in on the fun at Rocking the Rez Pow Wow at the Pakitu Community Park this weekend. It is an outdoor event so you can bring portable chairs or a blanket in case the provided seats might be taken.
