The first-ever South Central Graffiti Fest took place Memorial Weekend and it did not disappoint!

The Graffiti fest took place at Old Sheepdog Brewery which is located in South Central El Paso. This event was the first festival for the local brewery. The Graff Fest was dedicated to the graffiti scene in our community.

“With your support, we can help shed a bigger light on the culture within our community,” said Old Sheepdog Brewery owners.

The family-friendly event provided locals with a chance to taste some of the best BBQ food in the borderland while enjoying a live Graffiti art competition.

Graffiti artists from all across the borderland showed off their graffiti skills in a competition that allowed artists to express themselves on a blank canvas and go head-to-head for a chance at winning the grand prize!

“Our mission at Old Sheepdog Brewery is to be La Cerveza del Pueblo, the people’s beer, and through this create a safe space for those in our community to celebrate the things that make us CHUCO,” said event organizers.

Those who attended the event were also treated to a new Selena-inspired mural that was painted in real-time by El Paso muralist, Tino Ortega.

“I’ve always wanted to do a Selena mural and this past weekend I had the opportunity to do so, thank you,” wrote Tino on an Instagram video he shared that featured the final product.

The Selena-inspired mural features an image of the queen of Tejano music with a signature red rose behind her and the words “Como La Flor” painted over another gray flower.

Tino is best known for his mylar balloon murals that are painted across the borderland including an I Heart EP mural that stands outside of Old Sheep Dog Brewery.
