Sour Or Sweet? Here Is Texas’ Most Loved Halloween Candy
One of my favorite parts about Halloween used to be strolling through Texas neighborhoods and filling my bag with candy. I've always had a big sweet tooth, so Halloween night was always like hitting the jackpot.
Today, I don't go trick-or-treating, but I still enjoy occasionally dressing up and attending a Halloween party. And of course, with my adult money, buying my own bags of candy... Not to give out, just for me...
I've always been a stickler for specific types of candies
Since I was young I would always eat candy depending on what I liked the least up until what I liked most. So my favorites would always be left for last. Honestly, this is still something I do today with pretty much any food.
So for instance, I'd ALWAYS eat hard, sour candies first and save my chocolate for later. Especially things like M&M's, Twix, Reeces, and Kit-Kats.
As it turns out, the state of Texas as a whole prefers receiving a specific candy on Halloween night
I found slightly differing sources when it came to Texas' favorite Halloween candy.
Instacart says Texas' favorite candy to receive on Halloween is Ferrero Rocher Hazelnut Chocolates, but this seems like a fancier pick. I honestly don't think I've ever seen a child go for this candy first when they have a choice. But for adults, I could see it being more of a favorite.
I personally agree with Candy Store's findings more. According to their data, Texans LOVE eating Sour Patch Kids during Halloween. Followed closely by Reese's cups (my favorite) and Starburst. These options seem more typical of Halloween candy to me!
What about you, if your kid could fill their Halloween candy bag with anything they wanted, what would be their top pick? Or if you're buying for yourself, what's the go-to??
