There have been plenty of upgrades happening around El Paso at various parks, and it looks like this Kern Place park is up and getting some new outdoor activities.

Spring is here and Summer is just around the corner and plenty of El Pasoans are heading outdoors for some fun in the sun. With so many people in our region being vaccinated and feeling more comfortable venturing outside their homes, the desire for more activities in the Sun City has been growing.

The City of El Paso has responded and we've seen a lot of various additions happening at different parks, as well as the reopening of City of El Paso facilities. The city's water parks and splash pads are poised to all be reopening soon and the library branches opened up at the beginning of April. Plus, projects at various parks are continuing.

One of those projects is the addition of new amenities at Madeline Park in the Kern Place area. According to the Kern Place Association, ping pong and chess tables will be installed in the park beginning this week. Included were photos showing where in the park the installations would be happening. The work is part of the Neighborhood Improvement Program given to the Kern Place Association back in 2019 per the Facebook post. You can see photos of where the tables will be going below.
