The El Paso Animal Services shelter is gearing up for its first-ever mega-transport event in the next couple of weeks. During the summer, the shelter deals with a surge in dogs and cats entering the shelter and needs to get them to other parts of the country that are in need of adoptable animals.

El Paso Animal Services works with BISSELL Pet Foundation, Maddie's Fund, Team Shelter USA, American Pets Alive!, Human Animal Support Services, Maddie's Shelter Medicine Program at the University of Florida, Animal Rescue Corps, and Best Friends Animal Society to help transport and redistribute these animals in need.

You can help El Paso Animal Services with their life-saving efforts by fostering a dog or cat in need right now. Animal Services is looking for 400 Flight Attendant fosters to welcome one of their shelter pets into their home for anywhere between 4 to 7 days while they are waiting for their rescue flight to take off. Animal Services will provide food, supplies, and medical care while they wait for their ride.

Fosters are able to help out the shelter for a specific amount of time and you know the dog or cat you're fostering is on its way to a better life. This is also a great time to try out fostering if you've never done it before. If you enjoy fostering this time, you might decide to do it again for the shelter, maybe even finding your next furry family member.

You can sign up to be a foster by heading to El Paso Animal Services located at 5001 Fred Wilson Avenue today through Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. You can also call for more information at (915) 212-PAWS.
