Every year, comedy scenes across the country have a "New Faces of Comedy" showcase that displays the best up-and-coming crop of young comedians the city has to offer.

"Laughterhours Comedy, a premiere producer of comedy events in the Southwest, is proud to present the Standup Standouts: El Paso’s New Faces of Comedy Showcase at the El Paso Comic Strip! Featuring some of the best up-and-coming comedians of El Paso and surrounding areas.

The showcase will feature Alfredo Marquez, Goose, Chris Johnson, Javi Bailon, Jordan Savai, and Hobbo Favela! The show will be hosted by local national touring comedian Gibbs Saad."

Here are the "new faces" of El Paso comedy in 2022.

ALFREDO MARQUEZ JR

Doing comedy for less than 2 years Alfredo has been a consistently funny force at open mics across the city.

GOOSE

New to the city Goose has been an outstanding comedian, who didn't start in El Paso but has still done it in less than 2 years.

CHRIS JOHNSON

Full of energy Chris brings the funny every single set.

JAVI BAILON

Suited up in a hoodie and hat for every set, Javi has been doing stand-up for less than two years, but you could never tell based on how funny he is.

JORDAN SAVAI

Doing comedy for less than 2 years Jordan brings the funny even producing his own shows.

HOBBO FAVELA

Hobbo has been going out to every open mic and hosting shows across the city even performing out of town regularly, all while under 2 years of comedy.

JOHNATHAN GUZMAN

The wild card, Johnathan took a break in between COVID-19 but has been hitting the mics hard, and it shows.

Stand-up comedy is one of the toughest things anybody can try, but if you are interested in trying it out, remember, there are plenty of places here in town that'll let you get stage time.
