The El Paso Zoo Has a Trio of Tiny New Residents

It's a meerkat! And another meerkat! AND ANOTHER MEERKAT!

As if the meerkats weren't already one of the most adorable reasons to stop by the El Paso Zoo, there are now three more tiny faces to fall in love with.

The El Paso Zoo has welcomed a trio of meerkat pups, and they're almost ready to make their big debut.

El Paso Zoo Welcomes Three New Meerkat Pups

Muffin the meerkat is officially a mama to a brand-new litter of three meerkat pups, and visitors will get their first chance to see the little ones beginning Tuesday, September 29.

The trio will make their debut at the Meerkat Habitat in the Africa section of the El Paso Zoo.

Their scientific name may be the very serious-sounding Suricata suricatta, but just look at them. They're tiny meerkats! They’re just babies!

And now there are three more of them running around the El Paso Zoo.

Now These Baby Meerkats Just Need Some Names

There's no word yet on what the three new pups will be called.

The El Paso Zoo has had some fun in the past letting the community get involved in naming new babies with polls, although the zoo hasn't announced whether that will happen with these three.

But that doesn't mean we can't start thinking of names.

Three meerkats opens up SO many possibilities. Do you go with three names that belong together? Give each one a completely different personality? Name them after an iconic trio?

Whatever their names eventually turn out to be, I have a feeling El Paso is going to have plenty of suggestions.

The Meerkat Habitat Just Got Even Better

The meerkats have always been one of those animals that are just fun to watch at the El Paso Zoo. They're curious, they're constantly looking around, and there's usually at least one standing upright keeping an eye on everything happening around them.

Now we get three more.

The new pups are a pretty adorable addition to the zoo's meerkat family, and beginning September 29, El Pasoans can stop by and welcome the trio themselves.

Just be prepared to spend a little extra time at the meerkat habitat with the three new babies to watch now!
