El Paso Independent School District just announced some changes for their dress code that apply across the board for all students in elementary, middle and high school.

As Texas enacts new rules banning cell phones in the classroom, and just in time for back to school shopping season, EPISD is shaking up their dress code a little.

One change makes uniform colors standard while others affect everything from shoes to underwear.

No, they won't "check" students underwear, they just don't want chonies exposed in any way. The complete changes for the 2025 - 2026 school year can be found on the EPISD website.

The goals here are:

  • Simplified, practical expectations that support families in preparing students for school
  • The introduction of universal uniform colors (white, gray, navy) to streamline uniform shopping and make transitions easier for students who may transfer within the district
  • Flexibility that honors student expression within a positive, supportive school culture - ktsm

 Are There Any Exceptions?

Yes but not many. They're only allowed for students attending the Young Women’s STEAM Academy, the Center for Career and Technology Education and the Silva Magnet High School.

All schools have dress codes but not all schools require full on uniforms. See who does and who doesn't here.
