Not a "roller" derby, a roll-ING derby and Sunland Park, New Mexico ... practically IN El Paso ... would be the PERFECT place to host one.

Roller Derby is a fun thing to watch. I don't know how women on skates, rocketing around in a circle trying to kill each other ever got to be a thing but it is. We already have that though, this is a new, improved ... safer and more peaceful ... "rolling" derby.

El Paso's neighbor, Sunland Park, New Mexico, would be the perfect place.

Sunland Park is the #2 recreational marijuana dealer in the land of enchantment and is also home to the states largest dispensary so, where else would you want to hold a "Rolling Derby"? A race to see who can roll a perfect joint the fastest.

It's not legal in the lone star state but my fellow Texas stoners could probably still participate. I'd recommend doing it virtually and from somewhere in New Mexico. Go to a friends place, park at Sunland Park Racetrack, get a hotel room ... whatever.

How Does A Rolling Derby Work?

RAW Rolling Papers is about to hold a "Rolling Derby". If you're interested, you have until June 30th to enter ... sign up here. This is probably the only time stoners will ever be judged by their speed, efficiency or technical precision. Seriously, pot enhances many things but it's not exactly a P.E.D.

The contest is easy; set up a timer and twist one up. What you do with it after is up to you. (Example here.) That's all that's expected of you but there are rules. I wonder if there are sub-categories like doing it with one hand, blindfolded, etc. That would rock.

Anyway, we totally need one of these to call our own. I'll host it, judge it, take part in it ... trust me, I'll lose ... monitor it, find bands to play it; whatever.
