El Paso Legends Radio La Chusma Celebrating 20 Years of Music
El Paso is not just a home of great rock, but great music in general. We've seen bands last only a few years, others last a long time & become well-known in town. Like Radio La Chusma. For 20 years, the reggaeton/latin/rock band has represented El Paso, garnering a huge following & have had their share of huge shows in their career. They've also won the award of being one of the Best Original bands 10 times
For example you might have seen Radio La Chusma at the Bob Marley Bash or heard them on the Morning Show talking about that gig. They've also opened up for other big names such as Ozomatli, Slightly Stoopid, Doobie Brothers, WAR, and Steel Pulse.
Playing for 20 years is no small feat; that's absolutely a huge accomplishment. And the band knows that too. That's why they're celebrating 20 years of playing for El Paso & the world this Saturday.
This Saturday, the 27th, Radio La Chusma will be performing at the 501 Bar & Bistro on Texas Ave as part of a digital album release for PURA RAZArafi. As founding member Ernesto Tinajero explains: "This album release really means a lot to us, we were supposed to release it two years ago and then Covid hit, it's been hard getting back on track but we are super excited".
The two main singles they released were Big Money & Calavera no Llora, an emotional homage to our loved ones who have passed on
They will be joined by two more local bands; Dulce Mal,
& Get the Honey. Also DJ A Billi Free will be playing all night.
If you want to get your tickets for the show, they're available here on Hold My Ticket.
Here's to another 20 more years of Radio!
