There are many great athletes from El Paso in many different sports: basketball, football, wrestling & we can't forget boxing. One of the greatest El Paso athletes, ranked by the El Paso Times, is our very own Jennifer Han & this Saturday she'll have one of her biggest challenges to date.

38 year old Jennifer Han has been boxing since 2009 & over her decade long career, she's managed to rack up quite a few accomplishments: she became a 3 time Golden Gloves National Champion & the IBF Featherweight Champion 8 times from 2015 to 2020, becoming the very first champion boxer from El Paso. Her record is 18-3-1 with 1 KO & don't forget about  her biggest accomplishment...she beat Helen Joseph, at the Don Haskins Center, & became the IBF World Champion back in 2015.

This weekend, Saturday, September 4th, Jennifer Han will have possibly have her biggest fight yet; to face off against the top ranked female boxer in the world in Leeds England, reigning champion Katie Taylor (18-0 & 6 KOs) for a chance to become the Undisputed World Lightweight Champion for the WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO and Ring Magazine.

Other matches on the card include Benn vs Granados for the WBA Continental Welterweight Title & the rematch for Lara vs Washington. For anyone who wants to watch any of the matches, they have to watch on the DAZN streaming network. You can also see when Steve Kaplowitz interviewed Jennifer Han on Sportstalk for 600 ESPN El Paso.

The match will be around 2pm, local time & I'm sure El Paso is with me when we say "good luck!" as we cheer on our very own Jennifer Han this Saturday.
