El Paso Named One of the Best Dog-Walking Spots in Texas
Who’s a good city? El Paso is! Good news for dog owners, El Paso has ranked in the top three best Texas cities for dog walks. This according to TrustedHousesitters, a leading pet sitting platform, who analyzed data from across Texas to identify the premier destinations for canine adventures this spring—with Austin, El Paso, and San Antonio leading the pack as the best Texas cities.
In order to determine which Texas cities were great for dog walking, TrustedHousesitters evaluated the ten largest Texas cities by population based on four equally weighted factors: annual sunny days, green space percentage, off-leash dog parks per capita and walking and hiking trails per capita.
El Paso Shines as Runner-Up
Although Austin did rank first, coming in at No. 2 is the Sun City- which plays a major role as to why we're at the top of the list! El Paso emerges second for outdoor-loving dog owners due to the high percentage of green space among all ranked cities at an impressive 19%.
Combined with 65 hiking trails and nearly 300 sunny days annually (hello, Sun City), El Paso is an unbeatable choice for spring adventures with pets. Popular spots like the Hueco Tanks State Park and the Franklin Mountains State Park offer breathtaking backdrops for dog walks. Not to mention, we have some great parks perfect for our walking buddy!
Whether you and your furry companion are looking for a rugged trail, a fun dog park, or even a cool place to hang with your doggo, El Paso certainly has so many options for both dogs and owners!
