We love BBQ in Texas; enough that's plenty of different competitions throughout the state. We have the Texas Barbeque Festival & the Texas Monthly BBQ Fest as some of the most popular across the state (and that's not including the local ones in various cities).

And El Paso is no stranger to great BBQ places. Here are some that I believe would win a statewide BBQ competition:

Rib Hut: A personal favorite of mine & my dad; we've had lunch there many times & is easily one of our favorite BBQ joints. There's 2 Rib Huts in town; one at 12302 Montana & on the west across from UTEP at 2612 N Mesa.

Great American: A favorite for date, you can't go wrong at either Great American Steakhouse or Steakburger. They might be known for their steaks; but they have quite a sizeable BBQ menu.

You can find them at 1300 Airway, 1345 George Dieter or in Vinton at 600 Valley Chili Rd.

Tony's The Pit Bar-B-Q: Tony's has been a favorite in El Paso since 1958; and they're still around making great BBQ to this day. Tony's can be found at 1700 Myrtle Ave.

Hallelujah BBQ: If you've seen The Texas Bucket List, you probably saw their feature on Hallelujah BBQ. Located inside the Rescue Mission Of El Paso; they're currently working on getting a 2nd location in El Paso.

Johnny's Pit Barbeque: A another favorite place online is Johnny's Pit Barbeque at 4768 Doniphan, just down the street from Crave.

The State Line: A favorite on the west side (and a favorite amongst local musicians), The State Line is found at 1222 Sunland Park Dr.

Desert Oak Barbecue: Closing out our list is one I'm sure a lot of people would agree with; Desert Oak Barbecue has two locations in town: 3589 Rich Beem Blvd & 11411 Gateway West .

I know I probably missed quite a few places but the fact remains this: we love barbeque and there's plenty of places to choose from.
