El Paso Area Pumpkin Patches, Corn Mazes Getting Ready to Open
Fall is almost here and that means area farms are putting the finishing touches on their corn mazes and pumpkin patches.
Those looking to get lost among the cornstalks and pick out the perfect pumpkin need only wait until the last weekend in September for a “corny” adventure.
La Union Maze and Mesilla Valley Maze will open for the season beginning September 24, according to their respective websites. El Paso’s Corn Maze on El Paso’s far east side has not updated its website or social media.
For those who don’t appreciate a real-life puzzle of twists, turns, and dead ends, each also offers many other activities for the kiddos.
La Union Maze
La Union Maze in La Union, New Mexico opens Saturday and Sunday, September 24-25. After that, you can get lost among the corn stalks Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through November 6.
A flower maze, slides, jumping pillows, and cow train rides are some of the other activities the kids will be able to do.
This year along with pumpkins, visitors can also pick their own tomatoes, watermelons and flowers.
Mesilla Valley Maze
Mesilla Valley Maze in Las Cruces also opens Saturday and Sunday, September 24-25, and then Saturdays and Sundays through October 30.
Besides the corn maze and pumpkin patch, there will be a flower field and kid-friendly activities including hayrides, a cow train, pedal cars, slides, and a tire pyramid to climb on.
Special events this season include a Flower Festival, Fall Festival, and Pumpkin Festival. All at no additional charge.
