Doggies Get Their Day! La Union Maze Ends Season with Bring Your Dog to the Maze Day
This Sunday La Union Maze is going to the dogs -- literally.
The Southern New Mexico fall destination spot for many El Paso families looking for the perfect pumpkin and outdoor seasonal fun will close out the 2022 season with Bring Your Dog to the Maze Day.
La Union Maze in La Union, New Mexico is the only area maze and pumpkin patch still open, but it will be a wrap on the corn stalks and photo ops after this weekend.
If you’ve been meaning to check out the UFO-themed corn maze and all the kid-friendly activities the farm has to offer but just haven't gotten around to it, you need to do it this weekend or you’ll have to wait until September 2023.
Bring Your Dog to the Maze Day
Other than trained service animals, pets are not allowed at La Union Maze. The only other exception is on Bring Your Dog to the Maze Day.
That day is this Sunday, November 6.
Sunday, instead of walking among the stalks blindingly you can utilize your four-legged furry companion’s directional skills to find your way through the twisting, turning pathways of the 13-acre corn maze.
What to Know if You Plan to Go
• Only 1 dog per family.
• Your canine companion must be on a leash at all times, and have his or her latest shot records with you.
• They also ask that you please bring poop bags with you so you can pick up after your dog.
Fireworks, Pumpkin Smash Part of A-Maze-ing Last Weekend
Nightly Fireworks
Fireworks displays will color the desert sky each evening Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 30 minutes after dusk, which this time of the year is approximately 7 p.m. Feel free to bring your lawn chairs and blankets.
Pumpkin Smash
Saturday and Sunday the farm will hold its annual Pumpkin Smash. I’m told they take their biggest gourds, fill them with water, lift them up high with a crane, then drop them to the ground where they smash ‘em before they trash ‘em.
