Today is Earth Day. In fact, it’s the 50th anniversary of Earth Day so this probably would have been a bigger deal if it hadn’t been for you-know-what. Yes, ‘Rona has squashed the 50th anniversary of Earth Day just like it has the 50th anniversary of San Diego Comic Con. Damn you, ‘Rona!

Maybe you’re aware of some of the positive effects the pandemic has had for the environment. Less traffic means less smog in big cities. The canals in Venice are much clearer than they’ve been in decades. People have finally started conserving paper (probably because they’re not sure when the store is going to have toilet paper in stock).

But it’s not all rainbows and un-felled old-growth timber. There are some downsides.

Normally, picking up trash is a popular was to celebrate Earth Day. That’s going to be a lot harder to do now that Teddy’s Flame Room is shut down (you young army guys know what I’m talking about).

Planting a tree USED to be a good way to honor Earth Day. Good luck buying gardening supplies without getting judgmental stares in the check-out line at Home Depot.

Of course, you should still recycle. Except for rubber gloves. And PPE masks. Those are for single use only.

Despite the coronavirus, the Buzz Adams Morning Show still have a very pro-recycling policy. Mostly jokes from Reddit but, hey, every little bit helps.
