Dr. John Talks About Being Shot, Katrina [VIDEO, PICTURES]

Dr. John sat down for a rare interview with the KLAQ Morning Show live at the SXSW Festival in Austin.

Dr. John’s name has become synonymous with New Orleans jazz. His style also combines rock, funk and blues. He has five Grammys and was inducted last year into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Dr. John has performed with the Rolling Stones, Sonny & Cher, Eric Clapton and Lou Reed.

The legend talked about how he was a session guitarist, but had to give up strumming after he was shot in the hand, leading him to the piano, which he is known for now.
