Discover A Fresh Taste Of Japan At Sushi Itto Now Open El Paso

Savor a fresh taste of Japan at the all-new Sushi Itto inside the WestStar Tower in Downtown El Paso.

Sushi Itto, Mexico's largest sushi franchise, just opened its first flagship US restaurant in El Paso, and it's here to indulge and delight palates across the borderland.

During a recent press conference, I tried a few select dishes at Sushi Itto, and the whole experience was truly mindblowing.

El Paso has a hand full of delicious sushi hotspots such as Dragon Fly Sushi and Sonny's Sushi, and now you can add another fantastic eatery to your list with the opening of Sushi Itto in downtown El Paso.

Sushi Itto's modern decor makes one feel like you're dining at a big city restaurant. It features a beautiful outdoor patio and Teppanyaki and Omakase, two forms of Japanese-style dining.

Teppanyaki grills are popular in Japanese restaurants, where chefs grill the food in front of guests as they show off their culinary knife skills. Omakase is where chefs prepare a multiple-course meal of their choice using the finest seasonal ingredients.

During the visit, General Manager Aiko Torga shared that they are excited to bring some of Japan's best-sourced ingredients to The Sun City.

Our meal began with a mocktail called Chacha Matcha, a refreshing drink similar to a mojito made with Matcha, followed by one of the most savory and light bowls of Misoshiro (miso soup) made with tofu, shitake mushrooms, wakame, and Negi.

An order of Shishito Peppers followed the 10-course meal, Japanese sweet peppers with a Yuzo miso sauce, and a serving of Yuzu Ebi, tempura shrimp, served with Negi and siracha sauce. (Make sure to squeeze that lemon atop for a burst of flavor)

While we munched down on all the yummy goodness, the chefs prepared roll after roll of sushi, plating out a Sake Beach Roll (Salmon), a Maguritto roll (Crab), a Dragon Roll (Shrimp), a Spicy Sake Roll (Salmon), a Rainbow Roll and a Toreadito Roll (Crab).

Lastly, we tried the Samurai for dessert, a perfect palate cleanser that consisted of vanilla ice cream with cubes of coffee gelatin and Kahlua cream.

Also, make sure to try the house Ponzu Soy Sauce made with low sodium soy sauce, citrus, and spices when you visit; it is the special sauce of Sushi Itto.

For anyone who isn't down with sushi, no worries; they have you covered with other menu options such as Ramen, pork, chicken, premium cuts, and more options.

Sushi Itto is not only setting an exquisite dining standard with some delectable eats, but it's doing so with competitive prices in a gorgeous atmosphere featuring a live DJ on weekends for some added fun.
