In the state of Texas, there are bands & musicians that are regarded as rock royalty. Two huge names in the rock world are the late Dimebag Darrell from Arlington & Dave Williams of the Dallas band Drowning Pool. Despite being in two different bands, both musicians developed a bond that became essential to each other's careers.

Dimebag coined Dave William's nickname that would stick with him for life

Those who knew Dave Williams, knew his nickname was "Stage". He wouldn't have that nickname if it wasn't for Dimebag; who named him "Stage' based on his stage presence. When he watched Dave perform, he was blown away by how he would take control of the crowd while on stage. That would be proven in Darrel's tribute to Dave (which can be watched on YouTube), he would call him "animated" no matter what stage he was on. Coming from the man himself, that's a HUGE honor.

Of course anyone who ever saw Dave perform, knew that was the truth too...

Dimebag & Dave Williams even performed together

Normally it would've been hard to prove this; but thanks to a user on Vimeo named Dave Williams, he uploaded a video of the two of them performing together. Dave on guitar & Dimebag on drums (that's such a weird combination to think of!). It's only a 2 minute video but it's below for your amusement.

Dave Williams is still honored in the city of Dallas; the city once held a festival called "Stage Fest" in Dave's honor around various clubs on the 5 year anniversary of Dave's passing. And the love felt for Dallas was certainly returned by the band themselves.

R.I.P. Dave Williams & Dimebag Darrell. May they both rock in peace together.
