Eagle-eyed Twitter users caught an awkward moment during a press conference this week when Texas Representative Louie Gohmert lost a tooth.

This video really has me asking so many questions about Texas Representative Louie Gohmert and what is going on with his dental health.

Rep. Gohmert was speaking during the House Freedom press conference in Washington D.C. discussing the U.S.’s involvement in Afghanistan, according to the Daily Mail.

The 67-year-old was mid-speech when all of a sudden, you can see on the right side of his mouth a small white object fall inside his mouth.

Gohmert was able to move the part in his mouth and continue on with his speech. The short, three-second clip was then isolated and zoomed way in by Twitter user @TheRecount to show it was a tooth that had fallen out while he was talking.

The clip then went viral online, with over 3,000 retweets, 4,000 quotes, and 16,000 likes. With social media pages now buzzing, Representative Gohmert tweeting out later on that day how he was upset reporters were more interested in his dental issues what he describes as real issues:

No word yet on whether or not Rep. Gohmert has gotten the tooth issue taken care of. People also don't know if his tooth falling out is due to poor dental hygiene, his age, or if his COVID diagnosis in July had something to do with it. There are some experts who believe there may be a link between people who have dental problems and see them get worse after contracting COVID, according to the New York Times.
