Dez Bryant is about to make is long awaited return to the NFL. It's being reported by Josina Anderson that the Baltimore Ravens will be signing the former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver. But if you're hoping to see him suiting up soon on game day, pump the brakes on those expectations. Bryant is being signed to the Ravens practice squad. As of right now, he just needs to pass his physical and his workout, but all indications are that he will be signing with the Ravens.

Bryant is only 31-years-old, so he should have some tread left on the tires. He spent 8 seasons with the Cowboys, but hasn't played in the NFL since 2017. After being cut by the Cowboys back in 2017, he did end up signing with the New Orleans Saints in the middle of the 2018 season but he ruptured his Achilles in his first practice and hasn't been back since.

For a brief time, Bryant was one of the best wide receivers in the league, topping 1,000 yards in three straight seasons from 2012 to 2014. But it was a steady decline as it seemed Bryant didn't have the burst of speed to get separation from the defenders any more. His best season was probably in 2014 when he caught 88 passes for 1,320 yards, and a league leading 16 touchdown receptions.

Is Dez Bryant going to have any kind of an impact on the Baltimore Ravens? Who knows. First he has to pass the physical and workout. Then he has to get off the practice squad and onto the active roster. It could happen, but it's still a lengthy road for Bryant to get back out on the field for game day.
