You would think with how much stress the Dallas Cowboys bring to Texas fans that they would be the most hated NFL team in Texas, but I am wrong. As much as I hear Cowboys haters, they are not the most hated NFL team in the Lone Star state.

Shockingly, Texans actually reserve their biggest NFL hatred for another team entirely- one that doesn’t live in a state that usually raise Texans ire, nor does it reside anywhere near the Rio Grande, and (full honesty) I personally do not fully understand the beef with.

But according to a new breakdown of the most hated NFL teams by state, Texas has officially chosen an enemy, and apparently, we’re all collectively fed up with: the Philadelphia Eagles.

Yes. Philadelphia. The cheesesteak people! The team who I’ve been told their slogan is “go birds!”.

Researchers at Canada Sports Betting turned search data into a nationwide “hate map,” then matched each state with the NFL team they most likely despise. And while the Eagles topped the list in 13 states, and Texas was right there with the rest of the country!

Now, I will fully admit it: I’m not a football person. I don’t have a team. I don’t know the rules. I could not identify an Eagle beyond the bird. And I truly cannot tell you why Texas hates Philadelphia so much. But the fans know.

The Eagles Are Somehow Hated Basically Everywhere

Texas isn’t alone in this. The Eagles are the most hated in:

• Arkansas... and honestly, the list just keeps going.

When you’ve managed to annoy people from the Deep South to literal paradise (Hawaii!), something is going on.

I might not fully grasp the nuances of the Eagles vs. Cowboys tension, but the state of Texas is loud and clear: we do not vibe with Philadelphia.
