El Paso Police need help identifying a suspect who violently attacked a woman outside of an El Paso gym.

From a young age, women are warned against walking alone, especially at night, and crimes like the one that happened to this young woman are exactly why we're told that.

According to Crime Stoppers of El Paso, the police are asking for the public's help to identify a man who attacked a woman, robbed her, then ran over her during a carjacking. Around 10 p.m. on June 11th, a 24-year old woman was walking out of the TruFit Athletic Club in the Sunland Park Mall when a man grabbed her from behind.

The suspect put her in a chokehold until she lost consciousness then took her wallet, cellphone, and vehicle. As he was driving off, the suspect ran over the woman's legs. She was taken to the hospital for her injuries then released. Authorities found her stolen vehicle the next day but the suspect was gone. The only description the police have of the suspect is that he is a man, per Crimestoppers.

Authorities are asking if anyone has any information on this violent carjacking to contact Crime Stoppers of El Paso. You can call them at (915) 566-8477 or online at the Crime Stoppers of El Paso website. Tips can be anonymous and if your tip leads to an arrest you may qualify for a reward.
