Chick-fil-A Halts Donations to Groups Against Gay Marriage
It's been one of the big dilemmas of recent memory. Really really good chicken, but pretty negative views towards gay marriage.
Well, it seems that dilemma is coming to a conclusion as it seems Chick-fil-A is cutting ties with 3 groups that oppose gay marriage. In a statement, the company said:
This decision was made to create more clarity — and to better address three critical needs facing children across the communities Chick-fil-A serves.
The three critical needs the statement is talking about are hunger, homelessness, and education. So Chick-fil-A will be putting its efforts in these three issues. The company will still consider making donations to faith-based groups.
GLAAD, which is an LGBTQ rights group says that they are taking this news with "cautious optimism."
Unfortunately, the bad news of this whole situation is that Chick-fil-A has no plans to change their policy that keeps them closed on Sunday. Seriously, doesn't everyone suddenly crave Chick-fil-A on Sundays for some reason? Maybe that was just my conscience messing with me, and now that they've pulled their money from the anti-gay groups, those Sunday cravings will become Monday through Saturday cravings.
