I never knew that the women of San Antonio, Texas had a beef against Charles Barkley, but now that I'm all caught up on the tea, I can see why! It looks like the women are getting a bit of revenge now.

Barkley, the former NBA star and current TNT analyst, has faced ongoing criticism for his remarks about women in San Antonio. Over the years, he has made several comments on "Inside the NBA" that many have found offensive, particularly regarding the weight and appearance of San Antonio women. It all started back in 2010 when Barkley made this comment about the women in the Alamo City:

They ain't got no skinny women down there.

These comments sparked backlash from various groups and individuals who viewed them as body-shaming. The star doubled down on his comments in 2014, when he said he wasn't apologizing for them, and mentioned that in San Antonio "Victoria is a secret down there."

To be fair, he also said "you know I'm joking."

Despite the criticism, Barkley continued to make similar jokes in subsequent years. In 2016, he quipped that San Antonio women should "ease up on them churros," further fueling the controversy . Although he attempted a tongue-in-cheek apology in 2017, stating he now understood the appeal of churros, he still linked them to the weight of local women.

Whatever the obsession Barkley has with keeping this joke going, it looks like he's being a good sport about the backlash because this past week, as Barkley was covering NCAA tournament championship game at the Alamodome, Barkley participated in a spoof of "Pop the Balloon", the popular YouTube dating game show where singles decide whether to continue interactions with potential matches by popping a red balloon if they're not interested.

It looks like the women of San Antonio did not hold back!

Although it was a spoof, it's still kind of funny. Barkley's comments have consistently sparked debate about the boundaries of humor and the impact of public figures' words on societal perceptions. But who knows if this Barkley vs. San Antonio women feud will end!
