Challenge: Guess These 10 Texas Theme Parks From Satellite Photos
A hallmark of any summer is a trip to your favorite theme park. Whether it's on the Gulf coast, or one of the versions of Six Flags we have, we have a lot of options in Texas on where to ride coasters and eat expensive food.
Can you guess these 10 theme parks in Texas based on their satellite photos?
Side note: Yes, there is a difference between "theme" and "amusement" parks. We threw that out the window for the sake of the list.
The Most Accessible Theme Park In Texas
This theme park is set apart due to the fact that it is the most accessible theme park in the state. They even have wheelchair swings.
If you guessed Morgan's Wonderland, you'd be right. There's a lot going on in this theme park that makes sure every kid has a chance to enjoy the thrills.
The Shows Here Are Wet And Wild, And Are More Famous Than The Rides
I don't know anyone who goes here for the rides. Everyone goes to enjoy the shows.
Another big draw at SeaWorld San Antonio is the aquarium.
It's Hard To Pronounce. Harder To Spell. People Love It Anyway.
I know several people who make this park an annual tradition. They talk about it constantly. The best part is listening to the uninitiated try to pronounce the name of the park, and the city in which it resides.
Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels is a staple, and a lot of people consider it a must-visit.
This One Has A "Twin" A Little Further South
My first time going here, I made a whole day out of it. I went and hung out at the park, and then went to see the Rangers win a home game.
This was back when they won more often.
Six Flags Over Texas was a pretty good time. The sprawling park has more rides than you can shake a stick at, and despite being there from open til time to leave for the ballgame, I only got to ride a handful of rides thanks to the long lines.
The Texas Panhandle's Very Own Theme Park
This one may be a little smaller than others, but it has a unique history and several classic style rides. It's also the only theme park technically in the Texas panhandle.
Wonderland Amusement Park is Amarillo's own theme park.
This Well Known Theme Park Has Incredible Ocean Views
If you're heading down to the Gulf, and plan on visiting Galveston, then you've definitely considered visiting this place. When I lived outside of Galveston, I constantly told myself I would visit it one day.
I always opted to just lay on the beach with a cold-one, and soak up the sunshine instead.
Moody Gardens is a must if you're going to be near Galveston on vacation, especially if you have kids.
This Theme Park Shares Its Home With Buddy Holly
Even though its smaller than some other parks, it still has plenty of draw. I know people who make it part of their weekend getaway plans in Lubbock.
Joyland Amusement Park is a small, traditional amusement park with classic style rides. There's a big focus on being "family-friendly."
Big Time Right On The Boardwalk
This one is one of my personal favorites. While it definitely isn't a massive theme park, there is something special about the atmosphere. Maybe it's the ocean. Maybe it's the neon lights everywhere. Either way, I could spend several hours every night in the summer just walking around this place.
The Kemah Boardwalk has some rides and attractions. They've got a coaster. You're an amusement/theme park if you have a coaster...right? I even fed a stingray once while I was there.
I'm counting it.
This Park Isn't Even Old Enough To Drive Yet
This park is relatively young. It opened back in '07. It's grown a lot since then.
They've got more attractions than you do fingers. There are 12 for you to enjoy. Three of them are water rides, and they have an arcade.
ZDT's Amusement Park in Seguin may be small, but give them a chance. They haven't even made it out of their teen years yet.
Six Flags...But Further South
Texas is so big, we've got room for more than one Six Flags. That's impressive. California only has one Disney, and the same goes for Florida.
Check mate, coastal states.
Six Flags Fiesta Texas is in San Antonio. So, if your vacation takes you further south in the Lone Star State, you can still get in all the Looney Tunes themed fun you can stomach.
