El Paso's Ascarate Park will be glowing this April for the El Paso Water Lantern Festival. If you're looking for a beautiful, unique event in El Paso where you can enjoy stunning views with your loved ones, this is the event for you. The Water Lantern Festival is an international event where thousands of people come together to celebrate "life, love, remembrance, unity, & peace at this unique event," according to the website.

Attendees receive an environmentally friendly lantern and a marker to decorate their lantern with whatever messages they want to send out into the world. The lanterns are made from rice paper and wood and organizers follow a "leave no trace" policy. After the event, the lanterns are all collected as well as any trash seen around the event site. The LED candles are also recycled when possible.
