I'm just going to say it: "Hocus Pocus" is the best Halloween movie ever. The Best. You can fight me on this but you'd be wrong. It's just the perfect Halloween movie to put you in the mood for the witching hour. Released in 1993, "Hocus Pocus" had a slow start but has gained a following of fans of different ages.

In a new video for their series "EW's Untold Stories" director Kenny Ortega, writers Mick Garris & David Kirschner along with Dani Dennison (Thora Birch) and real Thackery Binx (Sean Murray) sat down with EW where they mentioned that Steven Spielberg was attached to film at one point. But because Spielberg's company Amblin was in competition with Disney at the time he never came onto the project. Also, the movie also started out darker than it came out to be with the original title of "Halloween House." And probably one of my favorite secrets was that Leonardo DiCaprio was the first choice for Max, but he turned it down to work on "What's Eating Gilbert Grape." I don't know if I can picture anyone but Omri Katz playing Max Dennison (AKA Hollywood!) So check out Entertainment Weekly's video, if nothing just to see Thackery Binx in human form all grown up, and take a trip down memory lane with the original trailer below! And remember, if you're a virgin don't light the Black Flame candle.
