Texas to Open Its Largest Costco Warehouse Yet
Everything’s bigger in Texas- but this new addition takes the cake... or at least the $1.50 hot dog combo. Costco is gearing up to open its largest store in the Lone Star State, and it's coming sooner than you might think. The bulk-buying behemoth is going big- Texas big- with a warehouse so massive it’s bound to draw shoppers from miles (and miles) around. So where’s it going? Grab your oversized cart and hold tight- we’ll get there.
What is it about Costco that is absolutely amazing? I don’t know when it happened but maybe it's because I’m getting older, but a day wandering the aisles of Costco and rewarding myself with a slice of pizza after sounds fun! And now, some lucky Texans will be able to stroll through some even bigger aisles when this newest one opens!
Coming in at a whopping 180,000 square feet, this new location isn’t just big- it’s Texas Costco royalty. It’ll officially take the crown as the largest in the state, edging out dozens of others already scattered across Texas. As of 2025, there are 42 Costco warehouses in the Lone Star State, but none quite like this one. Whether you're coming for the pallets of paper towels or the legendary rotisserie chicken, this store is pulling out all the stops.
Where Will the Biggest Costco in Texas Be Located?
So where’s this colossal Costco setting up shop? None other than Midland, Texas. That’s right- the Permian Basin is about to become a bulk-shopping destination. Until now, the closest Costco was over 100 miles away in Lubbock, with El Paso and Fort Worth even farther. But starting this summer, Midland residents (and their carts) won’t have to go far to stock up on 40-pound bags of rice or get one of those delicious rotisserie chickens!
The excitement officially kicked off last December when Costco and Midland officials gathered to break ground on the site. Mayor Lori Blong called it a major win for the city, praising the fast-tracked construction and teamwork that made it happen. Originally set to open by August 2026, the new Costco is now on track to welcome shoppers as early as this July- definitely ahead of schedule!
So get those membership cards ready and start dreaming about giant jars of peanut butter and endless pizza slices. This new Texas-sized Costco isn’t just a store- it’s about to become the ultimate destination for bulk lovers, bargain hunters, and snack fanatics alike. Whether you’re a seasoned Costco pro or a first-timer, this giant warehouse is sure to make your shopping trips bigger, better, and a whole lot more fun. Texas just got a little more Costco-awesome.
