The graduates of 2020 kinda got shafted by the COVID 19 pandemic. Now, scammers are trying to shaft their family members.

The El Paso Independent School District is warning the friends and family of 2020 graduates to beware of fake graduation tickets. EPISD has decided to go ahead with graduation ceremonies for area 2020 graduates to both honor their achievement and to allow (some of) their loved ones to watch them "walk".  District officials have announced that some jerks are selling bogus tickets though.

In order to regulate capacity and ensure proper social distancing .. as well as other health considerations .. each qualifying student was only given 2 tickets. Who they, in turn, give them to is up to them but ONLY district-issued tickets will be honored. Genuine tickets will be watermarked and bogus ticketholders will not be admitted.

The ceremonies will all be live-streamed and can be viewed here. Face masks will be required and other health precautions will also be in place, read them here.

The schedule of ceremonies, taken from episd.org, is as follows:

  • June 15 at El Paso High stadium: CCTA at 9 a.m. and El Paso High at 8 p.m.
  • June 16 at Franklin High stadium: Transmountain Early College at 9 a.m. and Irvin at 8 p.m.
