What To Do If Your Car Was Damaged By Bad Fuel In El Paso
El Paso drivers on the east side got more, (or less, maybe), than they expected when they bought gas a Valero station. Here's what to do if your vehicle was damaged ...
Peeps in east El Paso who bought gas from a Valero station at Lomaland and Gateway West were in for a rude surprise when the fuel apparently jacked up their engines.
One driver said she didn't even make it 3 blocks before her car stalled out.
Maribel Garcia said her SUV stalled out in the middle of the road but luckily a passerby helped her get it back to the station. She thought it was just her vehicle but then more and more people began showing up with similar complaints.
Quality mechanics are expensive so, obviously, the first question drivers raised was, "Who's going to pay to fix my car"?
In a statement from Klemme Enterprises, which owns the Valero location, the company said in part, "We immediately shut down our gas pumps and bagged each of them out, preventing anyone else from getting fuel. We are working on resolving the issue."
Klemme asked that those who were impacted call 915-519-7593 or email Klemmegenmanager@gmail.com. - kfoxtv
The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation was made aware of the issue and released a tip sheet of their own on what affected drivers should do. Among their suggestions, they advise drivers to file a claim ASAP, save all receipts for repair work and to notify their insurance company.
This happened Tuesday, the same day "semi-pocalypse" shut down I-10 3 times. I wonder if those trucks gassed up at this place too ...
