The Texas Staples I Expect to See in B.J. Novak’s New Movie
Cowboy hats? Check.
Cowboy boots? Check.
West Texas desert? Check.
Whataburger? Check.
Ashton Kutcher? Check!
Those are the Texas staples I expect to see when B.J. Novak's new movie, "Vengeance", comes out later this summer!
Don't know who B.J. Novak is? Yes, you do! Are you a fan of "The Office"? Of course you are! He played Ryan in the series, and was actually a writer for many of the episodes we love. Well, he's no longer the temp on "The Office", he's a full blown filmmaker, and his new movie, "Vengeance" really shows how far he's come.

"Vengeance" is set in West Texas. Where in West Texas? Well, that doesn't really matter; but Novak's Ben Manalowitz sticks out like a sore thumb. Novak plays a journalist and podcaster who travels from New York City to West Texas to investigate the death of a girl he was hooking up with. With an ensemble cast that includes Issa Rae, Ashton Kutcher, Boyd Holbrook, J. Smith-Cameron, and Dove Cameron.
Check out the trailer below!
See what I meant about Ashton Kutcher? He also seems to stick out like a sore thumb.
However, this movie looks like it kind of got Texas down, right? It has a rodeo, cowboy boots and hats, oil fields and most importantly- a Whataburger! All the things that make Texas great, in my humble opinion!
Will "Vengeance" get the rest of Texas right? We'll find out when it hits theaters on July 29- and while it is a Blumhouse film, it's far from horror.
