Arizona Has One of the World’s Top Rated Botanical Garden
When was the last time you stopped and smelled the roses? No, really! With the hustle and bustle of life, it might be difficult to find the time to even think about strolling through a garden!
However, if you do find yourself yearning for change in scenery and are interested in visiting a botanical garden, there might be one near you that is top rated!
UK-based travel insurance company InsureandGo compiled a list of 100 famous gardens and ranked them based on what percentage of Google reviews were four stars or higher- and for us in the southwest, Arizona has the top rated botanical garden!
The Boyce Thompson Arboretum is Arizona's oldest and largest botanical garden, located near the town of Superior, about an hour's drive east of Phoenix and it was ranked number one garden in the world by travel reviewers!
In order to be included in the rankings, gardens needed at least 500 reviews, and the Boyce Thompson Arboretum boasts an impressive 97.7% of reviews sitting at four or five stars.
The arboretum spans 392 acres and is home to a diverse collection of plant species from deserts around the world.
The arboretum features a wide range of desert plants, including cacti, succulents, and trees from the Sonoran Desert and other arid regions. The collections also include plants from Australia, South America, and Africa.
The arboretum is also a haven for wildlife, including over 300 species of birds, as well as reptiles, mammals, and insects. Birdwatching is a popular activity here, especially during migration seasons.
