I know what you're thinking, no one can take the place of the legendary Freddie Mercury, but Lambert sees this as a treat, a way for him to show the respect he has for Mercury and pay tribute to one of the best singers ever by singing some of the greatest songs ever written.

Adam Lambert first performed with Queen in 2009 while a contestant on American Idol (where he was placed 2nd). Queen and Lambert have performed together in several occasions including the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas last year and a European tour back in 2012.

Their North American Summer Tour kicks off on June 19th in Chicago and ends on July 20th in Washington, D.C.

Queen members, Brian May and Roger Taylor defended their choice as Mercury's successor,

"American Idol is a long way in the past for Adam now. He's a solo artist and well-established. And also we are established as a partnership ... if you concentrate on the negative you're not going to get anywhere. It's very important to have focus, and you play to people who want to hear us. " ~ May

"Good is good, and quality is quality." ~ Taylor

May also stated that during their shows they will definitely be paying tribute to Mercury. Although, Freddie has been gone for 23 years, his legacy still lives on. Queen was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001, has sold hundreds of millions of records worldwide, and has a longstanding musical admiration by all.

In my opinion, Queen has made the right choice, Lambert is a very talented, handsome and professional and I am pretty sure he is going to blow our minds away as usual.
